Luddenden has its own Mayor who raises funds for local good causes.
Mayor-Making Day is usually in September, and the election ceremony forms part of a busy day of activities in the village including a village fete, duck races and an auction, all based in St Mary's churchyard and around the Cenotaph.
The Mayor holds a number of fund-raising events throughout the year, details of which will be published here and on the Mayor's Group Facebook pages.
The current Mayor is Nigel Hodgson, who was appointed in September 2025. Nigel’s charity for the year is Alzheimer’s Research UK.
